Pollution
People have not been doing basic things like putting their rubbish in the bin, sweeping up the organic litter in their
yards and washing their cars on the lawn. As a result of this many bits of liquid and solid litter have been washed in to
the stormwater drains then taken to the wetland. Normally the trash racks can handle litter and other pollutants yet as it
is very wet and water is constantly pouring into the wetlands increased amounts of litter are being forced throught the racks.
Although some of the litter gets caught on the other parts of the wetlands most gets through.
Land Clearing
Recently the Cadael council members have decided to clear some of the land on the edge of the wetland to make more room
for farming. Each part of the wetland is vital and clearing the land on the side takes away a large amount of the trees that
suck up the extra nutrients.
Recreation
Many members of the Cadael communtiy have been using the Trach Wetlands for things like fishing and canoeing. This is
wrong. Fishing interupts the food chain at the wetland and disturbs it. Using a canoe results in the bottom of the wetland
being churned up disturbing all the rubbish and other pollutants. People have also been using motor boats on the wetland.
Once again this churns up the bottom of the wetland.
